Hutchison Ports Belgium is an open terminal and handles both third-party and company-owned barges. Hutchison Ports Belgium is part of the Hutchison Ports Europe Intermodal
(HPEI) inland terminal network.
The terminal is located on the Brussels-Scheldt Canal and is connected to the ports of Antwerp, Rotterdam and the European hinterland via the Scheldt.
The terminal is located in the 10,000 tonne section of the Brussels-Scheldt Canal. With a draught of 9m, coasters can also be handled.
2 barges a day provide the connection with the deepsea terminals in Antwerp and 1 barge has 2 calls a week with the deepsea terminals in Rotterdam. Mostly on the basis of Fixed Windows, whereby the barge has a reserved time of handling.
